Performing

Since graduating with a first class honours degree from Trinity College of Music in 2011 and when Covid isn’t getting in the way - I enjoy a varied freelance performing and recording career as a double and electric bass player. I’ve been lucky enough to be a member of Jamie Cullum’s band since 2013 which has taken me around the world performing at venues including the Royal Albert Hall, Madison Square Garden and the Hollywood Bowl. From September 2019 I held the bass chair on Waitress in the West End as well as working as a deputy on other shows including Hamilton; Wicked; Book of Mormon, The Drifters Girl, Dear Evan Hansen, The Time Traveller’s Wife and Dreamgirls. I’ve worked with many diverse artists across different genres such as Seal, Hamzaa, Scribz Riley and even Tyson Fury; as well as some of the country’s top jazz musicians such as Liane Carroll, Joe Stilgoe and Mark Lockheart (Polar Bear)

Recording

Equally at home in the jazz/pop/singer-songwriter/musical theatre worlds I have a wealth of recording experience in some of London’s top studios including Abbey Road, Angel and British Grove. Recently I played on Gary Barlow’s latest album: Music Played by Humans, as well as on Jamie Cullum’s Christmas album. I’ve also recorded for Samantha Barks (Elsa in the upcoming West End show of Frozen), Omar Kamal, Liane Carroll, Hamzaa and for the producer Duncan Mills. During Covid I have been recording remotely creating backing tracks for the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, as well as library music tracks and personal projects.

I have a high quality home set up with a UAD interface; a variety of microphones; Logic; a beautiful French early C20th double bass and an array of bass guitars including Precisions, Jazzes, hollowbodies and even a ‘59 Gibson EB-0.

Below are a couple of short video compilations of both my double bass and electric bass playing
